Snowtown is a Japanese mountain village themed indoor snow park with artificial snow. It features a large snow-covered Ice rink with a mini slope, an igloo, and artificial snowfall made by a snow machine. Sleds and plastic spades are available for hire and skiing lessons are available at certain times.
The artificial snow is firm enough to make snowmen and have snowball fights. The mountain village is picturesque and features several Japanese cafes and restaurants along with an Onsen with a hot water foot spa, a studio providing free costumes, face painting and an interactive drawing room called Sketch Town where kids can color a picture which is then scanned and projected as interactive 3D images on the wall. Kids also get a printout of their picture that can be used to make a 3D paper model.
Snow town is playful fun for younger children. It’s not cold for western people though you should take some gloves, socks and a coat for children as it’s expensive to hire these items. Snow boots are included in the admission price. There are regular snowfall shows throughout the day where snow falls from the roof. The Gateway Mall is Japanese themed and has a large selection of Japanese restaurants on the 1st floor as well as an International food court and fast food outlets on the ground floor. The mall has a direct connection to the BTS Ekkamai station.
