Jodd Fairs is the most popular night market in Bangkok. It is located just off Rama 9 road a short walk from Phraram 9 MRT station. It is open from 16.00 to 24.00 every day. The market features mainly food and drinks with some shopping. It has a great atmosphere and is well worth checking out for its tasty food.

The most popular activity at Jodd Fairs is eating. The market comprises 70% of food stations from takeaway stalls to sit-down restaurant spaces. There is also occasional live music near the seating area. The market is very touristy with a mix of locals, Asian and Western tourists along with Chinese tour groups.
What to eat at Jodd Fairs
The dining is a mix of sit-down restaurants and takeaway stalls from snacks to heavy meals. The restaurants mainly specialize in seafood and meat mountains. The restaurants tend to be busy and you may have to wait for a table. Around the market, you will find river prawns, sushi, grilled fish, noodles, pizza, takoyaki, BBQ skewers, burgers, spare ribs, pad thai, crepes, fresh durian and mango, ice cream, mango sticky rice, and more. Many stalls and restaurants sell the same thing. Most vendors speak basic English. Prices are moderate but not cheap. It will be about 500 to 600 baht for a meal for two in one of the sit-down restaurants. Expect to pay more for seafood. There is a seating area with communal tables just inside the entrance which is good for chilling and sampling food from the takeaway stalls. However, it can be difficult to get a seat here unless you come early. You may well end up eating standing up.

There is plenty of alcohol on sale at Jodd Fairs. There is a bar with draft beer next to the seating area and several small bars around the market selling cocktails and beers as well as takeaway stalls. If you don’t drink alcohol there are also vendors selling soft drinks and fruit shakes.
The Shopping
If you come for the shopping you’ll be disappointed. The shopping is limited with only 30% of the market shopping mainly for street-style clothes. You will also find some jewelry and accessories. What is the best time to go to Jodd Fairs?
The market opens at 16.00 but the best time to visit is from 17.00 to 18.30 when its not too crowded. At late night it can become overcrowded with tourists.
How to get to Jodd Fairs
The market is conveniently accessible by public transport. It is a 5-minute walk from MRT Phraram 9 station. Take exit 3 onto Rama 9 road. Jodds Fair is 100 meters to your left. If going by taxi be aware that this area is busy early in the evening with a lot of traffic. Taking the MRT will probably be quicker if coming from Sukhumvit.
