Thai Boxing Fight Night

The Proflex Thai boxing fight night is held once a month on the rooftop of the Ambassador Hotel in Sukhumvit, Bangkok. The fights are a mixture of Muay Thai, Mixed Martial Arts and traditional Boxing. The fighters are both Thai and International from amateurs to professionals.

The event sponsored by Singha Beer & Proflex who have a gym next to the boxing ring. There are eight fights and the action starts at 17.00. The fighters on the night that I attended were from Thailand, England, Australia, France, Philippines, & Russia.

The Boxing

The bouts on Thai Boxing Fight Night are between 3 and 5 rounds. All of the fights were good with the fighters giving it there all. The highlights were the impressive unbeaten English boxer Mikey Wileman & the Russian boxer Arest Sakkyan. They both won easily and it would be good to see them face tougher opponents.?

The Ring Announcer introduces the fights in Thai & English and there are ring girls if you forget which round it is. On Thai Boxing Fight Night here is seating on all four sides of the ring, some bleacher-style so every seat has a good view. There are 10 seat ringside VIP tables available at 10,000 baht which include two towers of beer. Singha beer is on tap for 100 baht & there is a small choice of hot food. After the boxing ends, there is an aftershow party at Hillary 3 bar on Sukhumvit Soi 11.
