Bangkok Bus Terminal
There are three Bangkok Bus Terminal run by the Transport Company. Mo Chit Bus Station for services to the north, north-east, central & east of Thailand. Ekkamai Bus Station for services to the east of Thailand & Sai Tai Mai or Southern Bus Terminal for services to the south, east & west of Thailand. There is also the Suvarnabhumi Airport bus terminal & private bus terminals run by Sombat Tour & Nakhonchai Air. Between them, you can take a bus to just about anywhere in Thailand as well as to the neighboring countries of Cambodia & Laos.

Bangkok Bus Terminal Chatuchak (Mo Chit)
Mo Chit 2, pronounced Morchit Song is the Bangkok bus terminal for buses serving mainly the north and northeast of Thailand although there are also services to central & eastern destinations such as Pattaya, Rayong, and Aranyaprathet on the Cambodian border. Mochit bus terminal is on Kamphaeng Phet Road near Chatuchak Market.
Where to buy a bus ticket
Ticket windows at Mochit bus station for north-eastern services are on the upper floor, northern services outside the front entrance, central and eastern services inside on the ground floor of the terminal. International tickets to Phnom Penh and Seam Reap in Cambodia and Vientiane and Pakse in Laos are on the ground floor of Mochit bus station. You can also buy tickets in advance online.
Mo Chit Bus Terminal Timetable & Information
Mochit bus station has an information kiosk in the center of the waiting area. They can direct you to the correct ticket windows, & give timetable & platform info. There is an electronic departure board next to the kiosk displaying information in English & Thai. However, it only displays departures for Transport Company buses and not departures for other companies.
Mo Chit Bus Station Services
There are shops, food courts, and toilets. Toilets are free. There are several 7-11 stores but no western food outlets. ATM’s can be found inside the main terminal on the ground floor. Also, a couple of bank branches where you can exchange money. There is a left-luggage office on the ground floor.
Mo Chit Bus Station Opening Hours
The station is open 24 hours. Ticket offices close after the last bus & open in the morning before the first bus. The 7-11 is open 24 hours.
Mochit Market
There is a covered market to the left of the terminal which sells a lot of useful stuff such as travel bags, trainers & sandals, sunglasses, watches & military surplus gear. Most things are priced and at Thai prices.
Mo Chit New Van Terminal
There is a new minivan terminal opposite the bus terminal with services to short-haul destinations in all directions. Cross the footbridge to get there. Note that there are no ATM’s in the Van terminal. There is a 7-11 & a small food court.

Mo Chit Bus Station to Khaosan Road
The cheapest way is to take the red bus number 3 from the bus terminal. In the other direction catch the bus to Mo Chit on Phra Athit Road. The fare is 8 baht. You can also take blue air-con bus 524 from Phra Athit to Mo Chit BTS & change to the MRT going one stop to Kamphaengphet station. Then take a bus, motorbike or taxi. Expect to pay 400 baht for a tuk-tuk to or from Khaosan.
Mo Chit Bus Terminal to Suvarnabhumi Airport
If you need to get to Suvarnabhumi Airport from Mochit bus station there is a passenger van service from within the bus station not at the mini-van station.
Mo Chit Bus Terminal to Don Mueang Airport
If you need to get to Don Mueang Airport from Mochit bus station take the Blue A1 Airport Bus from the Mo Chit city bus terminal.
Mo Chit Bus Terminal to Pattaya
Buses depart Mochit bus station to Pattaya every 30 minutes. The ticket office is on the ground floor. If you want to take a mini-van you will need to go to the mini-van station. You can book a Van or Bus online here.
Mo Chit Bus Station to Chiang Mai
Bangkok to Chiang Mai buses depart from Mo Chit Bus Terminal. There are multiple companies servicing the route. The journey time is 10 hours. Buses depart early morning and from late afternoon. You can check timetables, ticket prices and make bookings using the form below.
Mo Chit to Aranyaprathet
If you are heading to Cambodia there are both buses and vans to the border at Poipet. The journey time is 5 hours. You can check times, prices and make bookings here.
Bangkok to Phnom Penh Bus

How to get to Mo Chit Bus Terminal
Taxi
Taxis drop and pick up at the front and back of the terminal. A taxi from central Bangkok or Khaosan Road costs 100-150 baht either way. If you are arriving at Mo Chit beware of taxis parked on the road in front of the station or next to the pedestrian road bridges. These taxis will not use the meter. Avoid them. Flag down a passing one or take one of the arriving taxis on the ground or first floor. There is an official taxi rank at the back of the station but many of these drivers will also refuse to use the meter.
BTS
BTS to Mochit station then taxi, motorbike or bus to Mochit bus station. Taxi 60 baht, Motorbike 80 baht, bus 7-11 baht. Bus numbers 26, 77, 96, 104, 134, 136, 145, 509. It is cheapest to change to the MRT & travel one stop (16 baht) to Kamphaengphet station. Walk around the corner to Kamphaengphet Road and take a bus to Mo Chit 2 for 8-14 baht. Alternatively, you can take a motorbike from the MRT for 40 baht or a meter taxi for 45 baht.
MRT
MRT to Kamphaeng Phet station then taxi or motorbike to the Mochit bus terminal. Walk around the corner to Kamphaengphet Road and take a bus to Mo Chit 2 for 8-14 baht. Alternatively, you can take a motorbike from the MRT for 40 baht or a meter taxi for 45 baht.
City Bus
There is a city bus terminal at Mochit 2 next to the market. Bus numbers 3, 16, 26, 49, 77, 96, 104, 134, 136, 145, 170, 509, 517, 529, 536 originate and end there. Take bus 3 to Khaosan Road, 16 to Surawong (for Silom), 49 to Hualamphong Rail Station, 136 to Ratchada, Asoke & Khlong Toei, 529 to Phaya Thai, MBK & Hualamphong Train Station,
Ekkamai Bus Terminal
Ekkamai bus terminal is on Sukhumvit Road, conveniently next to the BTS Station. The Ekkamai Bus Terminal is the main station for services running to the east of the country up to the Cambodian border. Popular destinations include Si Racha, Chonburi, Pattaya, Rayong, Ko Samet, Ko Chang, Chantaburi, Aranyaprathet, and Trat. Mini-Vans also leave from the terminal. The Mini-Van station is behind the terminal.
Where to Buy Tickets
Ekkamai Bus Terminal is small and the ticket windows are all inside the terminal on the ground floor. There is also a waiting area, an information counter, a couple of food stalls & a left-luggage office. You can also buy tickets in advance online.
Where to eat at Ekkamai Bus Terminal
There is a 7-11 right next to the station entrance. Opposite Ekkamai Bus Terminal is the Major Sukhumvit cinema complex. If you have a long wait for a bus consider going to see a movie. There are lots of dining options inside including Mcdonalds & Pizza Company. At the street level, there is a branch of the Coffee Club along with a supermarket.
In the opposite direction on the other side of BTS Ekkamai is the Japanese themed Gateway Mall, with a nice food court and lots of Japanese restaurants. You will find Subway & Mcdonalds here, The German Imbis style “Currywurst” is recommended. There is a Starbucks in the hospital building next door.
Ekkamai Bus Station to Trat
If you want to get from Bangkok to Trat by bus, there are bus services to the city all day. You can then take a local songtaew to the pier. There are direct buses to Laem Ngop pier for the ferry to Koh Chang. You can buy tickets at the bus station or bus/ferry joint tickets in advance online here.
Ekkamai Bus Station to Pattaya
From Ekkamai Bus Terminal, Bell Travel & Roong Reuang run services to Pattaya Bus Terminal from 160 baht. There are also mini-vans that depart every half hour from 05.00-21.00. You can buy tickets at Ekkamai bus station or online from 12go.
Ekkamai Bus Station to Koh Chang
To get from Ekkamai Bus station to Koh Chang there are buses and vans running to the pier. You can buy joint van/ferry tickets that take you all the way to Koh Chang Pier. Ekkamai Bus Station to Koh Samet
The Bangkok to Koh Samet Bus departs from Ekkamai Bus Terminal direct to Ban Phe Pier for the ferry to Koh Samet. Buses depart every 1.5 hours from 07.00 to 17.00 daily. The bus journey takes 4 hours & costs 175 baht. There is also a faster minibus every hour from 07.00-20.00 for 200 baht. You can buy tickets at the bus station.
Ekkamai to Rayong
A minibus service departs every 40 minutes from Ekkamai to Rayong between 04.40 -20.00. The tickets are 180 baht. The journey takes 3.5 hours.
Ekkamai to Aranyaprathet
Buses from Ekkamai to Aranyaprathet on the Cambodian border depart from 06.15 to 16.30 daily. Travel time is 4.5 hours. You can buy tickets at the station.
How to get to Ekkamai Bus Station
Ekkamai Bus Terminal is on Sukhumvit Road between Soi 40 and 42 next to Ekkamai BTS Station.
Taxi
It should cost about 40-100 baht from tourist areas of the city.
BTS
BTS Ekkamai station is 2 minutes’ walk away. Use exit 2.

The following city buses run past the terminal 2, 25, 38, 40, 45, 48, 98, 184, 501, 508, 511, 513.
Bus number 2 goes to Mega Bangna, Sukhumvit Road, Central World, Democracy Monument (Khaosan) & Pak Khlong Talad.
Bus Number 25 for Siam Square & Hualamphong Station

Khaosan Road to Ekkamai Bus Station
The cheapest way from the Ekkamai bus terminal to Khaosan Road is to take the red bus number 2 for 8 baht. There is also an Air-Con bus 511.
Don Mueang Airport to Ekkamai Bus Station
Take the A1 Airport Bus to Mo Chit BTS Station (30 baht). Take the Skytrain from there to BTS Ekkamai Station (42 baht). The journey time will be under one hour.
Ekkamai Bus Station to Suvarnabhumi Airport
Take the Airport Rail Link from Suvarnabhumi to Phaya Thai BTS Station (45 baht). Take the Skytrain to BTS Ekkamai Station (42 Baht). The journey time will be under one hour.

Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai)
The Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal, known locally as Sai Tai Mai is the main Bangkok bus terminal for bus services to the south and west of Thailand. It’s housed in a shopping mall called SC Plaza on Boromaratchachonnani Road in the Taling Chan area of the city.
Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal – Destinations
The Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal serves a host of attractive destinations for visitors traveling around Thailand. Popular routes include Kanchanaburi, Hua Hin, Chumphon (for Koh Tao), Ranong (for Myanmar), Surat Thani (for Koh Samui & Phangan), Phuket, Krabi, Phang-Nga Trang, & Hat Yai.
Other routes include Phetchaburi, Cha-am, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Patthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, & Sungai Kolok, Sadao, Pedang Besar(for Malaysia). There are also services to Pattaya if you are arriving from the south of Thailand or the Islands.
Where to buy tickets
The Southern Bus Terminal Bangkok ticket offices are on the 1st floor or you can buy tickets in advance online for both buses and vans. Buses depart from behind the plaza and reached by a covered walkway. There is a left-luggage office which is open 05.00-23.00. Fees are 40-100 baht per bag depending on size, per 24 hours.
Bangkok Southern Bus Terminal Mini-Van Station
There is a Mini Van station to the left of the plaza with short-haul services going as far south as Hua Hin and Prachuap Khiri Khan, eastwards as far as Pattaya and Rayong and west to Kanchanaburi.
SC Plaza
The southern bus terminal Bangkok is part of SC Plaza. Inside the plaza, you will find an indoor market, 7-11, banks, cafes, a food court, and restaurants. The Plaza is open from 05.00-21.00.
Sai Tai Mai Night Market
In the evening, to the left of the terminal is the Sai Tai Mai night market. There are loads of stalls selling all kinds of stuff as well as food stalls and pop up bars with live music.
Southern Bus Terminal Bangkok to Kanchanaburi
There is an hourly minibus that takes 3 hours from 05.00-21.00. You can buy tickets at the bus station or online in advance from 12go. Tickets are 150 baht.
Bangkok to Hua Hin Bus
The Bangkok to Hua Hin bus departs from 11.30-16.00. More convenient are mini-vans which depart every 30 minutes from 05.00-22.00. Journey time is 3 hours with stops in Phetchaburi, Cha-am & Pranburi.
Southern Bus Terminal Bangkok to Pattaya
Buses depart every 2 hours from 08.00-16.00 and take 3 hours. There is also an hourly minibus. The tickets are 120-180 baht.
Southern Bus Terminal to Maekhlong Railway Market
Mini-Vans depart the Southern Bus Station Bangkok every hour from 05.00-19.00. The tickets are 90 baht. The journey time is 2 hours & the van also stops at Mahachai, Samut Sakon & Samut Songkhram.
Bangkok to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Mini-Vans depart every hour from 06.00-18.00. They also stop at Amphawa & Maekhlong Railway Market. The tickets are 100 baht. The journey time to Damnoen is 2 hours.
Bangkok to Surat Thani Bus
The early Bangkok to Surat Thani bus departs from 08.00-09.00. The Bangkok to Surat Thani night bus departs from 17.00-20.20. The Bangkok to Surat Thani VIP bus departs at 19.00, 19.30 & 20.20. Bangkok to Koh Samui Bus

If you are heading to Malaysia you can continue your journey by taking a mini-van from the bus station to either Sadao or Pedang Besar. You can also take a direct Hat Yai to Kuala Lumper Bus. Bangkok to Krabi Bus
The early Bangkok to Krabi bus departs at 07.00. The next buses depart from 17.00 to 20.40. The Bangkok to Krabi VIP bus departs at 19.20 & 20.20. The journey time is 12 hours. Bangkok to Trang Bus
The Bangkok to Trang bus departs from 16.40-19.00. The Bangkok to Trang VIP bus departs at 17.30. Journey time is 11-12 hours. Tickets at the bus station or online in advance from 12go. If you want to travel by VIP it is advisable to book in advance as these buses usually sell out in advance.
Bangkok to Ranong Bus
If you are heading to Myanmar, you can take a Bangkok to Ranong bus. Departure times are 09.00 in the morning & between 20.00-21.00 in the evening. The Bangkok to Ranong VIP bus departs at 21.00. The journey time is 10 hours. Tickets at the bus station or online in advance from 12go. If you want to travel by VIP it is advisable to book in advance as these buses usually sell out in advance.
Southern Bus Terminal to Mo Chit
You can take bus number 28 from the bus station behind the terminal. Also, Bus numbers 159 or 170 from the bus stop opposite the terminal.
Southern Bus Terminal to Suvarnabhumi Airport
You will need to take a taxi in either direction. The taxi fare will be about 500 baht including tollway fee.
Bangkok Bus 511
The 511 is a useful bus for getting into Bangkok. The route passes Khaosan Road, Pratunam, Siam, & continues up Sukhumvit Road all the way to Samut Prakan. It connects with the BTS at Rachathawi & Siam Stations & the MRT at Asoke intersection. The service is about every 15-20 minutes. If you are heading to any of the stops mentioned above do not get on an Expressway Bus as this goes straight to Bangna on the highway. Look for the Expressway sign in the front window of the bus.

Taxi
100-150 baht from Khaosan Road, 200-250 baht from Sukhumvit.
Bus
Bus numbers 19, 30, 40, 57, 79, 123, 124, 125, 127, 128, 149, 159, 164, 170, 174, 177, 183, 201, 515, 516, 524 and 530 all stop inside southern bus terminal Bangkok when passing and pick up at the bus stop on the opposite side of the main road outside when heading back into the city.
numbers 28, 35, 66, 146, 507 and 511 originate and end at the city bus terminal to the left of the plaza next to the mini-van station.
79 (orange) goes past Khaosan Road and up to Siam Square and Central World.
19, 30, 123, 124 go to Sanam Luang.
35, 40, 507 go to Hualamphong.
40 and 511 go up Sukhumvit Road.
164 goes to Silom and Central World.
28, 159, 170 go to Mochit 2 bus terminal.
Buses and taxis stop in front of the plaza.
BTS-TAXI
The nearest BTS Station is Bang-Wa which is about 10 kilometers away. A taxi from there will cost you about 100 baht.

Bus Terminal Suvarnabhumi
The Transport Company Bus Terminal Suvarnabhumi Airport is located at the airport transport center. There are bus services to Pattaya (Jomtien Beach), Hua Hin, Aranyaprathet (Cambodian Border), Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Nakon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Trat, Chantaburi, & Laem Ngop Pier (for Koh Chang). There are also buses to Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, & Si Racha. Some of the buses originate from Suvarnabhumi while others are scheduled services from Mo Chit & Ekkamai.
Bus Terminal Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya (Jomtien Beach)
Departures every hour from 06.45 to 19.45. There are two more departures at 20.45 & 21.45 that terminate at Pattaya North bus station. All buses drop off at Naklua. Tickets are 134 baht.
Bus Terminal Suvarnabhumi to Hua Hin
Transport Company buses depart every two hours from 07.30 to 19.30. The fare is 294 baht. Buses terminate at the Transport Company bus station near Blueport in Hua Hin.
Bus Terminal Suvarnabhumi to Nong Khai
There is one daily departure at 21.00. The bus calls at Nakon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen & Udon Thani. The fare to Nong Khai is 495 baht.
Bus Terminal Suvarnabhumi to Aranyaprathet (Rong Kluea Market)
There are six departures a day at 06.40, 07.30, 09.10, 11.10, 13.10, 17.10. Only the 06.40 & 13.10 go to the border. The others terminate at the town bus station. You will have to take a tuk-tuk or motorbike to the border (40-100 baht). The fare is 200 baht. You can buy a through ticket to Siem Reap for 600 baht. You can only take the 09.10 bus. The connecting bus leaves Poipet at 17.00. The Cambodian bus guide can arrange an express visa for you at the border. The cost is 1300 baht for the visa.
Bus Terminal Suvarnabhumi to Laem Ngop Pier (for Koh Chang)
There are two daily departures at 08.20 & 09.30. The fare is 275 baht. The bus calls at Chantaburi.
Bus Terminal Suvarnabhumi to Trat
There are two daily departures at 08.20 & 11.30. The fare is 205 baht.
Bus Terminal Suvarnabhumi to Chantaburi
There are two daily departures at 07.10 & 13.20. The fare is 205 baht.
How to get to Suvarnabhumi Transport Center
There is a free shuttle bus from the terminal to the transport center. Take Shuttle Bus A or C. They run every 10 minutes. Tickets can only be bought at the bus station. The transport center has toilets, ATMs, a post office & a 108 convenience store (downmarket 7-11). There is nowhere to eat there.
Buses from the Airport Terminal
There is a Hua Hin-Suvarnabhumi-Pattaya bus that departs from the ground floor of the terminal building. It is more convenient than the buses from the transport center. Buses depart to Pattaya every two hours from 08.00-18.00. The fare is 320 baht. The journey time is 2 hours. You can book tickets in advance through 12go Asia using the form below.
Sombat Tour Viphavadee
Sombat tour is a private bus company that runs good buses on over 20 routes around Thailand. Destinations from Bangkok include Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Surat Thani, Chiang Khong, Mae Sai, Mae Hong Song, Hua Hin, & Ranong. Luxury 20 seater buses run on the Bangkok-Chiang Mai & Bangkok-Phuket routes. The buses have seatback private entertainment screens & extra legroom. Sombat tour also operates buses under the name Bangkok Bus Line.
Where is Sombat Tour Viphavadee?
The terminal has a good location on Viphavadee Road, less than 10 minutes walk from MRT Phahonyothin Station & the new BTS Ha Yaek Lat Phrao Station. There is a nice waiting area with bus seats, a coffee shop & TV area. There is a restaurant in the station forecourt. A 7-11 & a Starbucks are next to the terminal & Central Plaza Lat Phrao Mall is a 5-minute walk away.

You can buy Sombat Tour tickets at the terminal or in advance online through 12go Asia. The Supreme Class VIP tickets should be booked in advance.
VIP Buses
VIP Bus Bangkok to Chiang Mai
Ordinary VIP Buses depart at 07.20, 19.00, 21.10, 22.00, 22.30. A 27 seat Supreme VIP bus leaves at 10.15. This bus has a seatback entertainment system & extra legroom. The journey time is 10 hours. You can buy tickets using the form below.
VIP Bus Bangkok to Phuket

How to get to Sombat Tour Viphavadee
BTS – Take the Skytrain to Ha Yaek Lat Phrao station (exit 3), turn left onto Thanon Ho Wang. When you reach Viphavadee Road use the footbridge to cross over. Walk up Viphavadee Road and Sombat Tour is on your left.
MRT – Take the MRT to Phahonyothin Station (exit 3). Cross the small park to your right before turning right on to Viphavadee Road. Walkthrough the central plaza car park access road and cross Viphavadee Road using the footbridge. Walk up Viphavadee Road and Sombat Tour is on your left.
BUS – Bus numbers 3, 29, 52, 69, 77, 134, 187, 191, 504, 510, 523, 538 stop directly outside the terminal. From Khaosan Road (Phra Arthit Road) take red bus number 3 for 8 baht. From Hualamphong take bus 29.
