The Anantara Riverside Bangkok (originally the Marriot Riverside) opened in 1992 occupying three connecting colonial-style buildings in a lush tropical garden setting.

A complimentary hotel shuttle boat runs every 30 minutes from early morning until midnight. Manohra Dinner Cruise
The Manohra is a restored traditional antique teakwood rice barge that has been converted into a floating restaurant. The Manohra dinner cruise departs every evening from the Anantara Pier to take a 2-hour cruise of the Chao Phraya River while you enjoy an intimate gourmet Thai dinner. The set menu of classic Thai signature dishes includes starters, appetizers, soup, main dishes & dessert. Alcoholic drinks including a selection of wines are available. The cruise departs at 19.30 returning at 21.30. Riverside landmarks that you will see include Wat Arun, Grand Palace, Santa Cruz Church, Holy Rosary Church, Memorial Bridge, Kian Un Keng, Guan Yu Shrine & Asiatique.

Dining by Design
Dining by design is an exclusive romantic dining experience. You can choose between dining in a private riverside Thai Sala or aboard your own private restored rice barge cruising on the Chao Phraya River as the sunsets. You can design your own menu which will be prepared by a personal chef & served by a personal butler. Two glasses of wine per person are included. The cost is 9000 baht per couple plus tax & service. There is an additional charge of 20000 baht if you choose the cruise option. You need to book 24 hours in advance.

Anantara Riverside Bangkok has three bars. Longtail By The River is an alfresco riverside bar. Its a great early evening hang out while watching the sunset, taking in the river views & enjoying rustic Thai snacks & craft beer. Open daily from 13.00-01.00, Kitchen closes at 22.30.
The Elephant Bar is the Anantara?s comfy lounge bar. Live Sport is shown on the big screen & there is a central pool table where you can challenge fellow guests or friends. Live music is provided by a piano player. There is an extensive selection of premium spirits as well as cocktails, wines & beer. A bar snack menu is available if you need to eat. Open from 15.00-24.00 daily.
The Anantara also has a swim-up pool cocktail bar, Loy Nam.There is also a sunny pool deck & a shady garden area with table seating. A Thai & international snack menu is served poolside. The bar is open from 10.00-19.00 with a daily happy hour from 16.00-18.00.
Attitude Rooftop Bar
Attitude Rooftop Bar is not officially part of the Anantara but is located just behind the Anantara on the roof of the sister Avani Riverside Hotel. The bar is super cool with dramatic views of the river & the Asiatique. There is also Seen Restaurant which specializes in imported seafood. Attitude & Seen are open from 18.00-01.00 daily.

The Anantara has one of the largest hotel pools in Bangkok. It has a wonderful location in the central garden area with shaded sun loungers surrounding the pool, set amongst tropical trees.

Spice Spoons Cooking School
Spice Spoons is the Anantara?s Thai cooking school offering immersive classes in how to prepare & cook your favorite Thai dishes. The cooking classes are held either on a converted rice barge or in the Spice Spoons kitchen at the Market Restaurant. The course is taught by the Anantara?s chefs and will teach you all about Thai food & how to create classic Thai dishes at home. The course includes a trip to a local market to source ingredients, as well as instruction & supervision in preparing & cooking 4 classic Thai dishes. At the end of the class, you get to eat your creations by the riverside. Reservations need to be made 48 hours in advance.

Riverside Plaza is a modern lifestyle mall located directly behind the Anantara. The mall contains a 7-11, Starbucks, Burger King, Sizzler, Pizza Company, Coffee Club, Dairy Queen, Boots Chemist, a Muay Thai Boxing Academy, a Kids Play Center, Banks & a 12 Victory Currency Exchange. There are also restaurants and a market area featuring clothing, bags, gifts & accessories. The mall is open from 10.00-22.00 daily. If you are not staying at the hotel you can still use the Anantara Riverside Shuttle Boat to visit the mall.

There are no famous sights near the hotel. Asiatique is one of Bangkok?s most popular night time haunts with bars, restaurants, shops, shows, a giant Ferris wheel & a market. It is on the opposite side of the river to the hotel but is easily accessible by taxi. Read more here.

Local Transport
Taxi ? The hotel can arrange a taxi for you or you can hail one on the street. Beware of taxis that hang around on the street near the hotel. These taxis do not use the meter, overcharge & will try to take you to fake gem shops & worse. Never ask a taxi driver for recommendations, they will only take you to places that pay them a commission.
Tuk-Tuk ? If you would like to use a tuk-tuk, walk up to Charoen Nakorn Road & hail a passing one. The same as for taxis, avoid ones that park & hang around near the hotel for the same reasons as taxis above.
BTS Skytrain ? Take the hotel shuttle boat to Sathorn Pier. Saphan Taksin BTS Station is next to the pier. Alternatively, take a taxi from the hotel to Talat Phlu BTS Station, a 10-minute taxi ride. The BTS Skytrain is one of the most convenient ways to get around Bangkok.
